Through its programs and projects, NML has created a research toolkit to house articles and reports, comparative assessments, analysis of national law and regional and international legal systems, good regulatory practices, and regulatory tradeoffs and options. NML's research toolkit incorporates economic and social considerations, helping to build a bridge between the law and sustainable and inclusive development. NML's research toolkit currently consists of the following core components:

Annotated Legal Instruments
Legal Guides
Case Studies
Research Studies
Comparative Studies
Regulatory Systems Maps
Click on the respective boxes above to see a full set of legal tools under that category.

NML’s papers and articles focus on issues in international economic law, trade, and sustainable development.

NML has also developed a series of Case Studies focused on helping policymakers, students, and the private sector better understand practical, real-time regulatory constraints to market innovation and illuminate pathways for system-wide change. NML’s Case Studies have covered issues ranging from implementation of trade agreements at the national level, evaluation of markets based on differing regulatory approaches, and the impact of gaps in law and regulation (and their implementation) from the perspective of women and small businesses.
